The Sheak Story

Sheak Studio began in 2024 as my creative refuge during a recent layoff. While searching for work, I returned to what has always grounded me: creating. Having experienced layoffs before, I wanted to build something of my own that could grow into a source of stability in an uncertain world. From that moment, Sheak Studio was born, a place where I share my creative work with my community through sculpting, photography, metalsmithing, printmaking, and more.

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, there were always projects scattered around the house, and in high school I was lucky to have both an incredible art program and a mom who fully supported my creative interests. She also happened to be the school counselor, which meant I spent plenty of time negotiating my schedule and trying to fit as many art classes as possible alongside my core classes. Thanks to her encouragement and the mentorship of my art teachers, I developed a lifelong love for creating that eventually made Sheak Studio possible.

Sheak is a play on my name. Shea is my middle name, and my last name starts with K, pronounced like chic. What started as a simple sign-off for my creative projects eventually grew into the name of my studio. As I returned to sculpting and jewelry making, I began offering a charm bar at events that allows customers to build pieces that feel uniquely their own, while I continue exploring new sculptural ideas. That balance between artistic expression and personal storytelling is what makes jewelry so special to me and helps others feel chic themselves.

Some of my work leans into the playful side, including hot dogs, Patrick Star, Pokémon, and other silly favorites. Funnily enough, those often end up being the most loved pieces. I think people enjoy a little whimsy. It is a small way to bring joy, spark conversation, and add personality to everyday life.

What started as a personal creative outlet has grown into something much bigger. Sheak Studio has become a space where creativity brings people together through events, workshops, custom pieces, and shared moments of making. Stepping out and sharing my work was not easy at first, but it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Through it, I have met incredible people, hosted joyful events, taught others, and grown more confident in myself and my art.

Today, Sheak Studio is more than just a brand or an online shop. It is a gathering place for creativity and community. My favorite moments are seeing someone try something new for the first time in a class or helping create a custom piece that means something special to them.

Sheak Studio has already become more than I ever imagined, and I am excited to see where the journey leads next.
